Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a professional with strong driving skills, familiarity with heavy equipment, and the ability to operate forklifts and other freight handling machinery when necessary. The Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our logistics and supply chain processes.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including commercial trucks, to transport goods to designated locations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Ensure accurate delivery of products, verifying orders against delivery manifests
- Maintain proper documentation for all deliveries and pickups
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during transportation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules
- Assist with warehouse operations, including inventory management and freight handling when required
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting to ensure vehicle readiness
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record suitable for commercial driving privileges
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, or freight handling machinery is preferred
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for maintaining vehicle safety and performance
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely over long distances and in various traffic conditions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate deliveries and documentation
- Physical ability to lift heavy freight and perform manual handling tasks as needed
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and customers
- Prior experience in freight transportation or logistics is advantageous
