About the Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This is a hybrid role and ideal for someone who enjoys working with founders and entrepreneurs, the newest technologies, supportive team members and has goals of growing their career as an Accountant. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
This is a great opportunity for someone with public practice experience who enjoys working with entrepreneurs and wants to continue developing their accounting expertise within a growing boutique firm.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Comfort and knowledge with online platforms and solutions such as QBO, Xero, HubDoc, Plooto, etc.
- Engaging with and managing multiple clients and internal team members' tasks and priorities
- Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Manage invoicing and billing processes
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Support AR and AP functions for clients
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to support overall business objectives
- Provide support and mentorship to junior bookkeepers

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in similar role.
- Ideally 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, HubDoc etc. and MS Office Suite
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax compliance, and journal entries
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with clients
- Interest in working with entrepreneurs and small business clients
