Tired of fast food or retail and looking for something new? Have some mechanical or parts experience—or interested in gaining some?
Road King Truck Repair is looking for an organized, reliable person to join our heavy-duty repair shop as a Parts Coordinator / Service Writer.
You do not need truck-parts experience. We will train the right person from the ground up.
If you're good at keeping track of several things at once, communicating with different people, following up, and making sure things actually get finished, those skills matter to us more than having the perfect résumé.
What you'll actually do:
- Take parts requests from our mechanics
- Use vehicle and VIN information to source parts from dealers and suppliers
- Order parts by phone and email and arrange delivery
- Follow up on outstanding orders and keep mechanics informed
- Enter parts and their actual costs accurately into ShopView work orders
- Receive customers and create work orders with the correct company and vehicle information
- Monitor commonly used inventory and reorder as needed
- Occasional parts pickup may be required. Authorized use of your personal vehicle will be reimbursed at $0.50/km. Supplier delivery or courier service is strongly preferred for parts pickups whenever available.
What we're looking for:
- Organized and comfortable multitasking
- Good follow-through — if something isn't finished, you remember to come back to it
- Comfortable with computers, email and phones
- Clear communication with customers, suppliers and coworkers
- Willingness to learn
- Valid driver's licence
- Punjabi is a strong asset
- Previous automotive, heavy-duty, mechanical, parts or service experience is an asset, but not required
Experience from fast food, drive-thru, retail, dispatch, warehousing, customer service or administration can translate very well to this job.

While we are not currently able to sponsor a Parts Technician apprenticeship, the skills and experience gained in this position may be relevant if you decide to pursue that trade in the future.
