Production Supervisor
Description
Centoco Plastics Ltd is North America's leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality toilet seats in high-gloss solid plastic, wood and other materials.
We are currently looking for a permanent, full-time Production Supervisor.
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the daily activities of hourly production. This role will be required to rotate between all 3 shifts- days, afternoons and midnights. This role will be reporting to the Plant Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, direct, co-ordinate and monitor daily activities and hourly production employees which includes ensuring efficiencies, productivity and scrap rates are achieved as per Company guidelines.
- Supervise 10-15 employees per shift.
- Plan and schedule production jobs to meet customer delivery and production targets.
- Ensuring machine cycle times are per Company standards.
- Completing shift First-Offs and in-process checks in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit daily production reports daily.
- Tracking of daily labor and material requirements.
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality as needed.
- Being able to make sound decisions based on manpower and production quotas.
- Ensuring employees are adequately trained on job duties and ensuring new hires are appropriately situated.
- Ensuring daily administration tasks are completed in a timely manner (performance reviews etc).
- Ensuring Quality guidelines are maintained and followed at all times.
- Always adhering the company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring health and safety guidelines are maintained and followed.
- Effectively communicating with key individuals.
- Read, interpret, and manage the daily production dispatch.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completed Post-Secondary education (in engineering, management an asset).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment as a production supervisor (plastic injection molding is an asset).
- Must be able to lead a team of employees.
- Knowledge/ experience in troubleshooting equipment (processing, settings, melt flows).
- Ability to understand equipment technical requirements.
- Understanding/ ensure compliance with laws/ regulations.
- Must be able to work a 3 shift rotation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
- Must be hands on as this role requires very minimal time sitting at a desk.
- Must be safety focused, a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well within all levels of a fast-paced organization while maintaining quality production.
- Able to manage own work flow and accomplish objectives with others without supervision.
- Excellent time management, analytical, multi-tasking and listening skills.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
