Job Overview
Friesen, Kaye and Associates is seeking an organized and technically confident Part-Time Production and Virtual Producer to support our virtual training sessions and produce printed workshop manuals and program materials at our Ottawa location.
This is an on-site position with responsibilities divided between virtual-session production and the physical production, assembly, and shipping of training materials.
Responsibilities
Manual and materials production
- Produce training manuals and workshop materials at the Ottawa office.
- Print, photocopy, collate, bind, label, package, and prepare manuals and supporting materials.
- Review completed materials for accuracy, print quality, correct page order, and overall presentation.
- Update and edit manuals and related documents as required.
- Track production requirements and ensure materials are completed by established deadlines.
- Monitor paper, binding supplies, packaging materials, and other production inventory.
- Prepare workshop materials for pickup, delivery, or shipping.
- Coordinate shipping and maintain accurate shipment information.
- Operate and perform basic troubleshooting of printers, photocopiers, binding equipment, and other production equipment.
- Keep the production area organized, safe, and well stocked.
Virtual production
- Set up and produce virtual workshops, webinars, meetings, and client sessions.
- Complete pre-session checks of links, presentations, audio, video, breakout rooms, polls, and other interactive features.
- Conduct one-on-one technical preparation sessions with clients, facilitators, or participants when required.
- Provide live technical support to facilitators and participants.
- Admit participants, monitor chat, launch polls, manage breakout rooms, share materials, and assist with screen sharing.
- Troubleshoot technical issues calmly and efficiently to minimize disruptions.
- Prepare and distribute session links, instructions, surveys, handouts, and other program materials.
- Maintain organized production records and follow established checklists and processes.
- Assist with other related production duties as required.
Qualifications
- Experience with document production, printing, photocopying, binding, packaging, or shipping is an asset.
- Experience producing virtual meetings, webinars, workshops, or training sessions.
- Proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar virtual-meeting platforms.
- Strong general computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, professional materials.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, follow production schedules, and meet firm deadlines.
- Ability to remain calm and professional while resolving live technical issues.
- Comfortable supporting clients, facilitators, and participants with varying levels of technical experience.
- Ability to safely lift and move boxes of manuals and production supplies weighing up to 55 pounds.
- Reliable transportation to the Ottawa office.
- Availability for occasional early-morning or evening virtual sessions, if required.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
