The Guest House Caretaker is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and smooth functioning of the guest house facilities. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the guest house ensuring a comfortable and hospitable environment for guests and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services: Coordinate key exchanges, conduct property walkthroughs, and act as the primary on-site contact for emergencies and inquiries.
Turnover Management: Supervise the cleaning crew, wash/replace linens, restock essentials, and ensure the property is meticulously reset between stays.
Property Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, handle minor repairs and coordinate with local tradespeople for major issues.
Security & Safety: Ensure the home is secured between guests, check that all locks and alarm systems are functional, and maintain exterior upkeep like snow removal or landscaping.
Required Qualifications:
- Customer Service: Strong communication and hospitality skills to handle guest interactions professionally.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and quickly under pressure.
- Physical Fitness: Capability to handle manual labor tasks, including bending, lifting heavy laundry bags, and standing for long periods.
- Flexibility: Availability to work varying hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
