Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finishing Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing interior and exterior finishing tasks with precision and craftsmanship. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, woodworking, and various finishing techniques to ensure high-quality results on residential, commercial, or industrial projects. The Finishing Carpenter will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to deliver exceptional craftsmanship that meets project specifications and client expectations.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute finishing tasks.
- Install cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, siding, and other interior or exterior finishes.
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed for finishing projects.
- Apply painting, caulking, and sealing techniques to enhance the durability and aesthetic appeal of structures.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with restoration projects by repairing or refurbishing existing structures.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install various components using carpentry skills.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure all work complies with safety standards and project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members on project timelines and coordinate tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, woodworking, or finishing trades; handyman experience is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of construction painting, tile laying, flooring installation, siding, roofing, and caulking techniques.
- Familiarity with concrete forming, masonry work, rebar installation, plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC is advantageous.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools (including CNC machinery), and construction estimating software.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills.
