About the Opportunity
Our nationally recognized client in the Ottawa- Gatineau area is looking for an Accounts Payables- Expense Specialist to join their fast-paced, dynamic organization on a contract basis.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Full-cycle, day-to-day Accounts Payables, with a focus in travel expense claim processing- processing expenses, coding, & preparing payments
Ensure accurate, proper coding to expenditure types
Oversee employee expense processing cycle, submission of expense reports
Reconcile credit card accounts in relation to expenses
Audits all travel claims to ensure compliance and accuracy in accordance to guidelines
Review and ensure proper approvals are obtained
Assist with Month-End closing processes including preparation of required accruals and reports.
Work closely with adjacent departments to facilitate an efficient and effective flow of Accounts Payables
Provides onboarding & training to new employees in regards to proper expense policies and procedures
Acts as a liaison with all levels of employees, answering questions and providing guidance on all expense-related inquiries
Ensure strong internal controls are upheld, including proper documentation and preparedness for Audit in relation to AP as well as coordination of compliance audits
Provides information, documentation and clarification as needed during audit processes
Lead process improvements including developing efficiencies, automation, and policies & procedures, as well as provide recommendations on related policies
Provide expense reporting and summaries for Finance team and senior management
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
MUST POSESS AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARNACE
3+ years experience in full-cycle accounting including travel expense claim processing, preferably within a high-volume environment
Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration
Exceptional communication skills- professional and courteous at all times
A true team player
Strong problem-solving skills
Highly organized, strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative
Strong oral and written communication skills (English), Bilingualism (French) is an asset
About the Job
The hourly wage for this opportunity is between $35.00 to $44.00 depending on relevant experience.
