Civil Pipelayer
Our client is an established civil construction firm dedicated to enhancing infrastructure and fostering community growth across Vancouver Island. Specializing in residential and commercial development, excavation, road construction, and highway infrastructure, they prioritize quality, safety, and efficiency in every project.
Our client is looking for a skilled Pipefitter and Civil Construction Laborer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities
- Verify and confirm slopes meet project specifications using levels or laser equipment.
- Cut and bevel pipes to precise measurements for installation.
- Install, maintain, and repair stormwater, sanitary, water, and utility systems.
- Interpret blueprints and written instructions to lay out pipe routes, coordinating with supervisors and municipal guidelines.
- Use tools such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels to achieve correct grading for installations.
- Direct equipment operators to adjust grades as needed to meet project requirements.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report any issues to supervisors.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards on construction sites.
- Follow safe work practices and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Assist in general civil construction tasks, including excavation and site preparation.

Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- 2+ years of experience in civil construction, specifically within a pipe crew.
- Knowledge of municipal requirements for sewer, water, hydro, and telephone installations.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Experience as a heavy equipment operator an asset.
