Forklift Operator
The Career Foundation is seeking full-time permanent Forklift Operator/Counter Balance on behalf of a Partner Employer in Brampton, ON
Why This Role Matters
Our warehouse operations are the backbone of our customer service and distribution network. As a Forklift Operator, you play a critical role in ensuring materials are handled safely, efficiently, and accurately. Your work directly supports smooth warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and timely order fulfillment for contractors, designers, distributors, and retail customers.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe movement, organization, and documentation of warehouse inventory, including tiles, skids, and stone slabs. Key responsibilities include:
● Operate a crane and/or forklift to safely load, unload, and move skids of tiles or slabs within the warehouse or onto trucks.
● Stack, organize, and store inventory according to warehouse layout and safety guidelines.
● Inspect materials for damage, reporting discrepancies or quality issues.
● Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records and completing required documentation.
● Perform basic equipment inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
● Follow all safety protocols, including safe lifting procedures and proper equipment operation.
● Collaborate with warehouse team members to support efficient daily workflow.
● Provide occasional guidance to junior team members where required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 year of Counter Balance forklift experience (propane powered)
- Must have a valid forklift license
- Good manual dexterity
- Completed high school diploma (or equivalency)
- Clear criminal background
- Ability to lift 20lbs.
What You Bring
● Valid forklift operator certification.
● 1-3 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
● Experience handling heavy or fragile materials (e.g., tile, stone slabs) is an asset.
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
● Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy objects.
● High school diploma preferred.
● Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
