Simon Fraser University (SFU) Recreation offers a wide range of programs and services designed to promote physical activity, wellness, and community engagement for students, staff, faculty, and the public.
POSITION SUMMARY:
SFU Recreation is seeking an enthusiastic Certified Pilates Instructor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Pilates, a deep understanding of body mechanics, and a genuine desire to help clients achieve their fitness and wellness goals.
- Lead engaging and effective group Pilates classes, tailored to meet the needs of participants with varying fitness levels.
- Develop customized Pilates programs that address participant goals.
- Educate participants on proper form, technique, and breathing to ensure a safe and effective workout experience.
- Monitor and assess participant progress, providing constructive feedback and adjustments as needed.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in Pilates and fitness.
- Contribute to the promotion of Pilates classes and other programs offered at SFU Recreation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Pilates Instructor with accreditation in Mat Pilates. Other accreditations may apply but note that SFU Recreation is currently unable to provide Pilates apparatus.
- Positive, passionate, and enthusiastic about helping participants achieve health and fitness goals.
- Experience working with people in a supportive setting.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Previous experience instructing or previous experience with SFU Recreation an asset.
- Valid First Aid and CPR (SFA and CPR-C preferred)

COMPENSATION RANGE: $36.50 - $50.00 plus 4% in lieu of benefits (hourly rate is based on qualifications and experience)
