Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Sign Installation Trainee to join our team and develop skills in the signage industry. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in sign installation, providing a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in construction, craftsmanship, and outdoor work. As a Sign Installation Trainee, you will learn the fundamentals of sign mounting, safety procedures, and teamwork while supporting our experienced installation professionals. This is not an in house job my crews are on the road Monday to Friday, you could be local one week, and in Thunderbay the next. We start at 6am to 8am in the morning, not whenever you feel like rolling out of bed, and work till the job is complete. We work some nights as well jobs are different every week. You may be in the shop as well if there is no road work scraping signs cleaning and paint trucks. I might even ask you to clean the toilets, you do everything in this position.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of various types of signs on different surfaces and structures under supervision
- Learn to operate basic tools and equipment used in sign mounting and setup
- Support team members by cleaning up behind them., I don't care who makes the mess you may have to clean it up behind them.
- Follow safety protocols during all phases of installation to ensure personal and team safety
- Help prepare work sites by clearing obstacles and ensuring access to installation areas
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and materials
- Participate in training sessions to develop technical skills related to sign installation and safety standards
Requirements
- Common Sense
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new skills on the job
- Good communication skills meaning listen with your ears retain what you've been told and practice it.
- Know how to read a tape measure and record measurements accurately!
- Valid driver’s license required; reliable transportation to Crediton every day.
- Prior experience in construction, carpentry, or outdoor manual labour is advantageous but not mandatory
- Must be able to work outside year round.
Pay: $17.67-$30.00 per hour
