Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing trailers and trailer components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality products, ensuring safety and durability standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding on a variety of materials.
- Use plasma cutting tools, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to shape and modify materials
- Conduct rigging operations for lifting and positioning heavy components safely using cranes or forklifts
- Measure dimensions with calipers, tape measures, and other precision instruments to ensure parts meet specifications
- Assemble fabricated parts according to engineering drawings
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience with MIG welding, fabrication, or fitting within manufacturing environments
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with rigging procedures, crane operation, machining techniques, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks during fabrication processes
- Knowledge of welding safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to operate forklifts or similar lifting equipment (certification preferred)
- Experience working with schematics, assembly instructions is highly desirable
Pay: $20.89-$28.00 per hour
