Pylon Electronics Inc is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration facility supporting both electronic and physical test equipment and is one of the largest Canadian Owned Calibration Laboratories. Pylon Electronics has a solid reputation in the repair and calibration of measuring instruments. We currently have seven laboratories located in Montreal (QC), Ottawa (ON), Toronto (ON), Dartmouth (NS), Calgary (AB), Edmonton (AB), and Richmond (BC).
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lab Supervisor for our Physical Properties Laboratory where you will oversee the daily technical operations of our labs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on technical environment, enjoys leading teams, and is committed to maintaining the highest calibration and quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure all outgoing equipment meets calibration standards and supervise work performed by Lab Leads and technicians.
- Drive on‑time delivery by meeting Turn Around Time (TAT) targets.
- Maintain proper control and tracking of lab assets.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate technical staff to support their professional development.
- Identify lab capability needs and contribute to technology planning.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 17025 calibration standards and internal quality processes.
- Work with customers and internal teams to resolve technical questions or contract ambiguities.
- Coordinate on‑site work, approve leave/bank hours, and sign off on timecards.
- Conduct regular assessments of technical performance.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Lab Manager.
What You Bring:
- 3–5 years of experience in a calibration, physical properties or technical lab environment
- Degree in engineering technology or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025:2005, USP, and other calibration standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Skill in reading and interpreting operating instructions and test procedures.
- Proficiency with computer technology.
- Previous calibration experience is an asset.
- Eligibility for Controlled Goods & Industrial Security Clearance (Secret Level II).
Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour
