Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Civil Construction Labourer to join our team and support various infrastructure projects, primarily within the municipal and private sectors. This role involves hands-on work in construction sites, assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of roads, pipe and retaining walls. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to develop skills in construction techniques. Duties
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing and leveling ground surfaces
- Support the installation of civil structures such as pipe, roads, and engineered structures
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete assigned tasks
- Rigging and unrigging materials for lifting or placement using appropriate techniques
- Maintain safety standards by following protocols during all phases of construction
- Work around excavators and dumptrucks, in tight spaces
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in civil construction
- Prior experience or familiarity with digging and filling, rigging, hand tools, power tools; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and processes is advantageous
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and working in outdoor conditions in various weather scenarios
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and protocols on construction sites
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different project requirements
- Ability to get to work on various job sites in the lower mainland BC
