ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

We are exclusively recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established electrical contractor with over 30 years of success delivering projects across multi-family, institutional, commercial, and industrial construction in Manitoba. Known for a strong reputation and steady growth, our client is looking to add an experienced Electrical Construction Estimator to their team, with a clear path to grow within the company.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :
- Prepare complete and accurate estimates for electrical construction projects, from take-offs through final bid submission
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to scope electrical work and identify risks or gaps
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Build detailed cost breakdowns covering labour, material, equipment, and subcontracted work
- Track bid opportunities and manage multiple estimates and deadlines at once
- Collaborate with project managers and field staff to support a smooth handoff from estimating to execution
- Maintain and refine historical cost data to improve estimating accuracy over time
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
MUST HAVES:
- Experience in electrical construction, either in the field as an electrician or in an estimating role, or a combination of both
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods used in multi-family, institutional, commercial, or industrial construction
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong math and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Comfortable using estimating software and standard office applications
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A team-first mindset and a genuine interest in growing within a company for the long term.
