Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team and help deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing Indian cuisine, a strong understanding of food safety practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Candidates with experience in Indian restaurants and a passion for quality food preparation are highly preferred.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Assist in daily food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, marinating meats, and organizing ingredients.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented according to restaurant standards.
- Follow food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need replenishment.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries according to food safety guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service.
- Support kitchen operations during busy service periods while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar position in a restaurant environment.
- Experience preparing Indian cuisine is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 25 kg.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
