Overview
Our Client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join their manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating press brake machines to produce precise metal components, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical processes, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment. The Brake Press Operator will play a vital part in the manufacturing process, contributing to the creation of complex parts and assemblies used across various industries.
Afternoon Shift
Responsibilities
- Operate press brake machines with precision to form metal sheets according to specifications.
- Utilize CNC programming and Fanuc controls to set up and adjust machinery for optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on press brake equipment.
- Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring devices to verify part dimensions and quality.
- Assist with setup changeovers, including programming adjustments via CNC or CNC milling machines as needed.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly, welding, or packaging tasks when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Support quality control procedures by inspecting finished parts for defects or deviations from specifications.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of press brake machines with Fanuc controls.
- Experience with CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, or other machining centers is advantageous.
- Strong blueprint reading skills combined with knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes, welding, assembly, and machining techniques.
- Ability to operate forklifts and utilize warehouse experience for material handling when necessary.
- Familiarity with hand tools, calipers, basic math skills for measurements, and quality control standards.
- Understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CNC systems for efficient machine setup.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and mechanical assembly processes preferred.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
$20 per hour Shift premium
