Job Description:
Are you skilled with your hands and have a knack for problem-solving? Blind Magic is seeking a dedicated Blind Repair Technician to join our team. As a Blind Repair Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and aesthetic appeal of our customers' blinds and window treatments.
CORE Responsibilities
- Working directly for our Service Manager;
- 60% Responsibilities - In our warehouse Repair facility located at 10615 170st. Perform window covering repairs such as Cutdowns, disassembly part replacement, Recording blinds
- 20% Responsibilities - Warehouse packaging, shipping and Receiving.
- 15% Responsibilities - Installer Helper
- 5% Responsibilites - Office maintence and light cleaning
- Repair and service various window coverings including cell shades, vertical blinds, horizontal slatted blinds, roller shades, specialty blinds and drapery.
- Remove and reinstall repaired window coverings within the custoerms home.
- Diagnose issues and determine appropriate repair solutions, such as motorized blind reprogramming, replacing slats, cords, or brackets.
- As a supplimentary overflow job duty you may also be required to Install new blinds and provide guidance to customers on usage and maintenance.
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess repair needs and provide cost estimates with the direction of the service manager.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Uphold high standards of customer service, professionalism, and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in blind repair or a related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends based on customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years blind repairs including, roll shade clutch repairs, recording cell shades and horizontal wood blinds. Operating control replacements.
- Knowledge of different types of blinds and window treatments.
- Understanding of basic electrical and motorized blind systems.
