Journey Electrician

The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial/industrial construction and have strong troubleshooting skills, team leadership, and the ability to organize small projects.
Responsibilities
- Install electrical systems, equipment, conduit, cable tray, wiring, and devices for industrial and renewable energy projects
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine system layouts and installation requirements
- Perform electrical rough-ins, equipment terminations, panel installations, and final commissioning activities
- Install and connect motor controls, PLCs, relay panels, and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Layout and assemble electrical panels and control systems according to project specifications
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to maintain construction schedules and workflow efficiency
- Conduct site inspections and testing to ensure installations meet project specifications and Ontario Electrical Code requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation deficiencies during construction and commissioning phases
- Operate lifts, forklifts, and other mobile equipment safely and effectively on construction sites
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and site safety procedures
- Support project completion targets by ensuring work is completed on schedule and to quality standards
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- Must have Ontario Journey Electricians License, ideally 309A
- Must have experience in a renewable energy environment and/or ICI construction/industrial
- Experience reading blueprints and laying out electrical systems
- Must be computer literate and have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to obtain required security clearance when necessary
- Must be a team player, but can work independently
- Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving abstract
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and maintain a professional demeanor
- Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team
- Must possess tact and diplomacy
- Excellent multi-tasking and work load prioritization abilities
- Outstanding communication skills
