Responsibilities
Vacancy Status: New position
Reporting to the Manager, Domestic Recruitment, the Domestic Recruitment Officer supports undergraduate recruitment initiatives and student outreach for Laurentian University. Working within established campaign guidelines, the Officer travels extensively to represent the university at high schools, education fairs, and community events, delivering presentations and providing accurate information to prospective students, families, and guidance counselors. Additionally, the role provides vital day-to-day operational support, which includes processing applicant inquiries in a timely manner, updating recruitment databases, maintaining up-to-date informational materials, and staying current on university programs and admission requirements.
Recruitment, Event Execution & Public Speaking
Tailored presentations for specific recruitment events, high school visits, and educational fairs.
Attend recruitment events, education fairs, and individual campus or institutional visits.
Promote Laurentian University's programs and culture with prospective students, parents, and staff.
Travel frequently to conduct recruitment campaigns and build institutional relationships.
Planning & Relationship
Institutional visits for various recruitment campaigns throughout the academic year.
Information requests from potential applicants expeditiously, providing top-tier customer service.
As a primary point of contact for the university, ensuring a positive, professional image is consistently projected to all external stakeholders.
Reporting, Quality & Institutional Knowledge
Assist with completing recruitment reports, databases, and lead tracking systems accurately.
Provide feedback on recruitment materials, marketing collateral, and presentation strategies to improve future outcomes.
Ensure all information and promotional materials are completely up-to-date, accurate, and compliant with university standards.
Comprehensive knowledge of university programs, admissions requirements, and campus updates to effectively answer inquiries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Four (4) year undergraduate degree, preferably from Laurentian University in Communications, Business Administration, or Education.
Valid level G driver's license and good-driving record.
One (1) to three (3) years of related experience in liaison efforts, public speaking or delivering presentations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Public speaking and presentation training or presentation experience.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to travel.
Familiarity with Laurentian University preferred.
Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is considered an asset.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
