Our client is seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead business growth and expand their presence throughout the Columbia Valley and Kootenays.
This is a highly visible role for a strategic relationship builder with a strong hunter mentality who thrives on identifying new opportunities, developing long-term client relationships, and converting prospects into profitable business.
The successful candidate will manage the existing sales pipeline while developing and executing proactive business development strategies. You will build relationships with customers, contractors, industry professionals, and other key stakeholders while identifying emerging market opportunities and positioning the organization for sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy focused on new revenue generation and market expansion.
- Manage and grow the existing sales pipeline while consistently developing new business opportunities.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue prospective customers through networking, referrals, cold calling, face-to-face meetings, property and office visits, and other outbound sales activities.
- Build and maintain a strong network of customers, contractors, architects, industry professionals, and other strategic contacts.
- Identify key decision-makers and develop targeted approaches to generate new business.
- Evaluate potential opportunities and prioritize prospects that align with organizational strategy and growth objectives.
- Lead sales presentations, pitches, proposals, and related business development activities.
- Build short- and medium-term sales pipelines in alignment with established targets.
- Develop strategies to increase market penetration and expand the organization's regional footprint.
- Identify opportunities for both immediate revenue generation and long-term strategic growth.
Market & Customer Development
- Analyze industry trends, competitive activity, market conditions, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements, objectives, budgets, and business challenges.
- Recommend tailored solutions that address customer needs and create measurable value.
- Monitor customer and industry drivers and provide market intelligence to management.
- Maintain strong relationships throughout the customer lifecycle to support retention, repeat business, and referrals.
- Provide exceptional customer service and proactively address customer concerns.
Sales Strategy & Process Improvement
- Develop and continuously improve outbound sales processes, structures, tools, and best practices.
- Review and enhance existing sales platforms and CRM processes to improve visibility, efficiency, and accountability.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, sales activities, opportunities, and forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate operational waste and improve efficiency across business development activities.
- Collaborate with management and internal stakeholders to align sales strategies with broader organizational objectives.
- Contribute ideas that support innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Pricing, Proposals & Reporting
- Support deal structure and pricing decisions through business-value analysis.
- Prepare and negotiate pricing for proactive bids, proposals, and business opportunities.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and adjust strategies as required.
- Provide weekly reports covering business development activities, pipeline performance, sales forecasts, and market insights.
- Prepare quarterly reporting related to sales and marketing activities and expenses.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and provide management with timely visibility into opportunities and risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 7 years of business development and sales experience, preferably within transportation, logistics, construction, industrial, or another relationship-driven B2B environment.
- Demonstrated track record of generating new business and growing revenue.
- Strong network-building and relationship-management capabilities.
- Proven ability to develop and manage a sales pipeline from prospecting through to close.
- Experience working directly with decision-makers, contractors, customers, and industry stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of sales strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and business development principles.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
