Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Optometric Assistant/Optical Dispenser to join our eye care team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, assisting with optical procedures, and supporting the daily operations of the optometry practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in eye health, retail sales, and delivering a positive patient experience. Prior experience in optical is preferred, along with a professional attitude and excellent communication skills.
Duties
- Greet patients and customers warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Assist with patient intake, including gathering medical history and updating records
- Dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses, including fitting and adjustments
- Educate patients on lens options, frame selections, and proper eyewear care
- Process sales transactions accurately
- Manage inventory of optical products and order supplies as needed
- Perform laboratory tasks such as frame adjustments when required
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical dispensary area
Qualifications
- Previous experience with optical products is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and assist patients effectively
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment with attention to detail
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor to ensure positive patient interactions

Pay: $17.20-$23.00 per hour
