The Human Resources Department has an opening for a permanent, full-time Manager, Human Resources – Wellness, Safety and Disability Management. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources & Payroll Services, this position is responsible for:
Managing a diverse team of Human Resources employees including Generalists, Health and Safety, and Disability Management;- Providing leadership to reporting employees on a wide range of programs, processes, initiatives and labour relations matters (e.g. bargaining, grievance administration, intersection of disability management and labour relations issues);
- Leading respectful, customized, timely, and employee-centered disability management practices, recognizing that employees may be experiencing significant health, personal and financial challenges, and may be navigating challenging and stressful circumstance;
- Ensuring that practices are consistent and comply with legislation; collective agreements/employment contracts; administrative regulations; external comparators and best practices; and, internal policies and procedures;
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with reporting staff, managers, bargaining agents, and external contacts, and interacting in a manner that builds trust, credibility, and rapport; and,
- Participating in other duties and special projects as assigned.
The ideal candidate has: a degree in Human Resources or a related field; experience leading and developing a high performing HR team; expertise in Disability Management and Labour Relations; a passion for approaching employee matters through the lens of inclusivity and reconciliation; a record of accomplishments which demonstrates effective leadership, collaborative problem solving and excellent customer service; an appetite for progressive change and continuous learning; strong organizational and time management skills; success in building and maintaining strong working relationships; and exceptional facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills. A CPHR designation would be an asset.

Hours of Work:
35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary; optional modified work week schedule available)
$127,855.00 – $159,741.00 per year (note: these are 2025 rates)
