In this role, you won't just manage procurement - you'll influence how high-value IT investments are planned, procured, and delivered, ensuring value for money while supporting fair, competitive, and defensible public procurement.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead complex, high-value IT procurement initiatives, including software, hardware, and enterprise systems

Provide expert advice to departments and ensure compliance with GNWT procurement policies, legislation, and best practices

Oversee procurement, contract negotiation, and support the full lifecycle management of IT agreements

Collaborate with clients, IT stakeholders, and end-users to develop effective procurement strategies and solutions
-
Manage and develop the IT Procurement team, including performance management, mentoring, and workload coordination
Key Qualifications:
-
A post-secondary degree in procurement with 5 years of experience including one year in a supervisory role.
Equivalencies that will be considered:
-
Masters in Procurement or relevant procurement field and 3 years of related experience including 1 year of supervisory experience.
Directly related experience may include:

Public sector procurement, including competitive processes (RFPs, RFQs, tenders)

IT procurement (software, hardware, enterprise systems)

Contract development and negotiation for complex, high-value agreements

IT project support or leadership, including procurement lifecycle management

Vendor and stakeholder management across cross-functional teams
-
Supervisory or leadership experience (staff oversight and team development)

Strategic procurement planning, including sourcing, evaluation, and risk management
Relevant post-secondary degree in procurement may include:
