Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child and Youth Support Worker to assist children and young individuals with diverse needs. This role involves providing supportive care, fostering development, and creating a safe environment for children with disabilities or special needs. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to children and youth with disabilities or special needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist in implementing individualized care plans and developmental activities tailored to each child's needs
- Support children during daily routines, including educational activities, recreational play, and social interactions
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages learning, independence, and social skills
- Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent support and communication
- Monitor and document progress, behaviors, and any concerns related to the child's development or health
- Assist in organizing activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of child development principles and teaching strategies
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine desire to support children's growth
- Relevant certifications or training in child care or special education are advantageous
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a nurturing environment for children
Pay: $20.50-$23.50 per hour
