Position Description
As a Maintenance Mechanic Technician, you will play a critical role in maximizing equipment uptime and ensuring safe, efficient production.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Install, adjust, rebuild, and maintain production machinery.
- Perform equipment changeovers and mechanical adjustments to support production schedules.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Ensure all work is performed safely while following company policies and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
Qualifications
- Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) or equivalent mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience within the printed packaging, printing, folding carton, labels, flexible packaging, corrugated, or converting industry is considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and power transmission systems.
- Experience reading mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Comfortable troubleshooting high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to prioritize work and respond effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Comfortable working independently on the afternoon shift.
