We are seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Machining Estimator & Service Coordinator to join our team. This dual-function role is key to supporting customers, estimating machining work, and coordinating service activities on the shop floor. The ideal candidate has experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment, understands machining processes, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
Estimating
- Review technical drawings and specifications to prepare accurate machining estimates.
- Determine material requirements, machining time, tooling needs, and subcontracted services.
- Prepare and submit quotes to customers in a timely manner.
- Work closely with production and programming to validate feasibility and lead times.
Service Coordination
- Act as a primary point of contact between customers, production, and internal teams.
- Communicate job status updates, changes, and timelines to customers.
- Coordinate with machine operators and QC to ensure smooth workflow.
Administrative & Process Support
- Create and maintain job travelers, work orders, and documentation—supporting ISO processes.
- Collaborate with the Shop Supervisor to align capacity, priorities, and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP systems (Epicor experience is an asset).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quoting accuracy and service efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a machine shop, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes (CNC, manual machining, tolerances, materials).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Customer service experience and strong communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Epicor or another ERP is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities.
