Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. This role involves performing cleaning duties, basic facilities maintenance, and ensuring a hygienic environment for staff and visitors. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, and common areas
- Conduct commercial cleaning using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure a sanitary environment
- Assist with basic facilities maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, reporting repairs, and minor troubleshooting
- Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are well-maintained and stored properly
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning activities
- Adhere to established health and safety regulations to ensure compliance with organizational standards
- Support special cleaning projects or deep-cleaning tasks as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or custodial work preferred
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures and best practices
- Basic understanding of facilities maintenance and general upkeep tasks
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality of work
- Good organizational skills to manage time efficiently during shifts
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following safety guidelines
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
