The Role & Advanced Responsibilities: As a Prosthodontic RDA, you will work closely with our Prosthodontist on intricate, multi-step rehabilitation cases. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing high-level chairside assistance for complex crown, bridge, veneer, implant, and full-mouth reconstruction procedures
- Fabricating and placing complex provisional/temporary prosthetic restorations
- Placing and removing gingival retraction cords with precision
- Taking digital and conventional preliminary and final impressions for diagnostic and laboratory casts utilizing conventional impression and digital scans
- Managing lab cases, communicating with premium commercial dental laboratories, and tracking incoming prosthetics
- Educating patients on complex treatment plans, pre-op protocols, and long-term implant/prosthetic care
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Dental Assistant license with the College of Alberta Dental Assistants
- Prosthodontic Advanced Practice Authorization strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 2+ years of dental assisting experience (experience in prosthodontics, oral surgery, or high-end restorative dentistry is a massive asset)
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong manual dexterity for fabrication work
- Excellent interpersonal skills to reassure patients undergoing extensive, transformative journeys
