Yard Supervisor Scrap Metal Recycling
Must have Proven Yard Supervisor experience in metal recycling.
Pay Rate: From $35.00 per hour based on qualification and experience
Under the authority of the Manager, the Yard Supervisor must have experience in metal recycling, be able to train, lead and control, operational tasks relating to Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals. They must have the knowledge to identify the different types of metals. They will respond effectively to quality and productivity and adhere to all health and safety requirements. They will see to the planning of operations and collaborate with management to continuously optimize and improve processes.
The goal is to ensure that operations are carried out safely and productively to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
You're responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of all yard staff to ensure accordance with yard policies and procedures
- Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company plans and visions and communicate them to subordinates
- Assigning tasks and adjusting workflow to ensure yard runs efficiently
- Organizing workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
- Receive complaints and resolve problems
- Strong customer service skills, and time management
- Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa
- Prepare and submit performance reports
- Decide on reward and advancement based on performance
- Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as supervisor or relevant role
- Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field
- Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to take initiative and work on multiple priorities at the same time
- Must be able to train others
- Good knowledge of MS Office, Meyer System.
