Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling processes
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated according to safety protocols
- Assist in the daily setup of the sushi station, including ingredient prep and equipment maintenance
- Follow recipes and presentation guidelines to deliver visually appealing dishes consistently
- Support the kitchen team during busy hours by efficiently managing multiple orders
- Adhere to sanitation standards and participate in regular cleaning of work areas and tools
Experience
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal assembly
- Familiarity with food handling safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen
- Experience with serving customers or providing excellent food service is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience within the food industry that demonstrates reliability and teamwork skills
