Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, and move inventory safely and efficiently
- Perform order picking and fulfillment using warehouse management systems like AS400 to ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments, inspecting goods, and preparing items for dispatch
- Conduct packaging tasks to prepare products for shipment, ensuring durability and compliance with safety standards
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock counts, cycle counts, and updating warehouse records
- Support manufacturing or construction-related activities when required, utilizing mechanical knowledge for assembly or equipment setup
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and heavy equipment operation to prevent accidents and injuries
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in warehouse distribution processes
- Valid certification or experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, or other heavy equipment
- Mechanical knowledge or background in manufacturing or construction is a plus
- Experience with warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail in order picking, packaging, and shipping tasks
- Prior experience with shipping & receiving procedures and inventory management is preferred
