Overview
VCC Health Centre is a newly opening physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic at Suite 103 - 5991 Spring Garden Rd in Halifax, in the Halifax Professional Centre next to the QEII and Dalhousie. We open in August 2026 and are building our founding team. Our clinic focuses on vertigo and comprehensive care, including chronic pain, concussion, and TMJ disorders, and we are looking for a dedicated Registered Massage Therapist who wants to grow with a clinic from day one. Preference will be given to candidates with experience treating chronic pain or TMJ and jaw-related conditions, though we welcome all strong applicants.
Duties
- Provide professional massage therapy tailored to each client, using techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial, and sports massage
- Conduct client assessments, set treatment goals with the client, and build appropriate treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and confidential treatment records using our electronic charting system (Jane)
- Educate clients on self-care and recommend appropriate follow-up care
- Collaborate with our physiotherapists to provide coordinated care, particularly for chronic pain, TMJ, and headache clients
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming treatment environment
- Manage your schedule efficiently through our online booking system
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized massage therapy program (2200 hours) with current registration in good standing with a recognized Canadian massage therapy association, and eligibility for direct billing with major insurers
- Professional liability insurance
- Experience with chronic pain or TMJ treatment is a strong asset
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to massage therapy
- Strong communication skills: explaining treatment clearly, addressing concerns, and building rapport
- Ability to work independently and professionally in a growing clinic
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and industry standards
