Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
The HR Administrator reporting to the Manager, HR supports the Human Resources department by performing a variety of administrative tasks and assisting with HR-related functions. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and benefits administration. The HR Administrator will work closely with HR team members and other departments to contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support the administration of pre-employment requirements, including scheduling and tracking medical assessments, drug and alcohol testing, criminal record checks, and other employment-related testing requirements while maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely completion.
- Process and manage human resources department invoices by accurately reviewing, coding, tracking, and submitting invoices for payment. Monitor HR budget expenditures, complete quarterly spending reviews, reconcile discrepancies, and work closely with Accounts Payable and SAP users to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Prepare, maintain, and audit employee records and documentation to ensure compliance with company policies, legislative requirements, and record-retention standards. Support internal and external audits by gathering,reviewing, and validating documentation and records.
- Generate and distribute HR reports, metrics, and analytics, including monthly scorecards and other monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Compile, analyze, and validate workforce data to support decision-making, compliance reporting, and business objectives.
- Provide administrative support for recruitment and onboarding activities, including preparing employment documentation, maintaining new hire records in the HRIS, coordinating camp accommodations, and preparing onboarding materials.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR databases, ensuring information is accurate, complete, confidential and up to date.
- Assist with compliance-related initiatives, document reviews, and audit activities to support adherence to regulatory, company, and operational requirements.
- A certificate or diploma in human resources, business administration, or a related field, is required.
- Previous experience with SAP, SuccessFactors, and SharePoint, an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain composure and confidentiality in all situations.
- Excellent teamwork, judgement, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
Working Conditions
- This is a remote position working 8-hour days, 5 days a week with occasional travel to the Mount Milligan site.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required on site.
