Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced Cook to join our Mexican restaurant team. We are seeking someone with strong experience in traditional Mexican taqueria-style cooking and high-volume kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes
- Prepare traditional Mexican foods including tacos, quesadillas, salsas, etc.
- Prepare and cook and serve meats including al pastor, suadero, bistec, tripa.
- Operate and maintain trompo, grill, flat top, fryer, and other kitchen equipment
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the kitchen
- Assist with inventory and food preparation organization
- Work efficiently during high-volume service periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, taqueria, restaurant or kitchen environments
- Experience preparing and cooking al pastor and suadero
- Experience operating a trompo and grill equipment
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards in the food industry
- Knowledge of traditional Mexican cooking techniques and food preparation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if needed
- Passion for delivering excellent customer service and high-quality meals
- Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques are highly desirable
