Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of events. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, with experience in hospitality, marketing, and guest services. The Event Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of event operations, working closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver seamless events that meet or exceed expectations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event, ensuring seamless communication and satisfaction.
- Lead and supervise servers, bartenders, and support staff, ensuring proper grooming, punctuality, and performance.
- Oversee all aspects of food and beverage service, including buffet setup, presentation, replenishment, portion control, and allergen compliance.
- Coordinate pre-event setup including tables, décor, linens, AV systems, signage, and floor layout according to event contracts.
- Manage logistics for both in-house and off-site events, including loading/unloading equipment, transportation, and venue coordination.
- Conduct pre-event staff briefings, assign duties, and monitor workflow throughout the event.
- Maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring service areas, addressing concerns promptly, and providing VIP-level attention when required.
- Troubleshoot issues such as staff shortages, technical problems, décor concerns, or unexpected guest increases calmly and efficiently.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times, including restrooms, service stations, and guest areas.
- Oversee post-event procedures including cleaning, equipment return, inventory checks, and securing the venue.
- Prepare detailed post-event reports on guest feedback, damages, staff performance, and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in catering supervision, banquet operations, event management, or hospitality leadership.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required for off-site catering setup, driving company vehicles, and transporting equipment).
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate service staff.
- Excellent communication and client-handling abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Physically able to lift 30–50 lbs and support event setup/teardown when required.
- Professional appearance, punctuality, and a strong customer-service mindset.
- Familiarity with buffet presentation, food handling, and portion control standards.
- Hands-on experience managing staff schedules, role assignments, and on-site problem solving.
- Experience coordinating with chefs, decorators, vendors, and external venues.
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines, allergen awareness, and service best practices.
- Experience preparing post-event reports, handling client feedback, and documenting issues.
