Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. As the Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and compliance of construction projects. This position involves meticulously inspecting residential units, common areas, and building envelopes to identify and correct deficiencies and warrantable items.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspections
- Conduct detailed inspections of residential units, common areas, and building envelopes to identify deficiencies or warranty items.
- Verify that construction work meets company standards, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Record deficiencies and inspection results using company databases or industry software.
Deficiency Management
- Coordinate with trades to ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly and to the required quality standards.
- Follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely completion.
- Support warranty and post-construction deficiency management as required.
Minor Repairs and Finishing Work
- Complete minor repairs and touch-ups including:
- drywall repairs and paint touch-ups
- cabinetry adjustments and repairs
- baseboard and trim adjustments
- minor hardwood and tile repairs
- door hardware adjustments (locks, hinges, closers)
- caulking and sealing
- concrete repair
- parkade injection
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with site supervisors, trades and property managers to address reported deficiencies.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with all stakeholders throughout the resolution process.
- Assist in coordinating inspections, repairs, and follow-up work.
Materials and Delivery Checks
- Inspect incoming materials and deliveries to ensure they meet required quality standards before installation.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in portfolio-wide projects and initiatives as required.
- Perform other duties as required to support operational excellence.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in residential construction, deficiency work, real estate or development.
- Strong understanding of residential construction practices, materials and finishing trades.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify deficiencies and quality issues quickly and accurately.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine practical repair solutions, while remaining calm and solution-focused when addressing deficiencies or concerns.
- Hands-on repair skills for completing minor finishing work such as drywall repairs, paint touch-ups, cabinetry adjustments, hardware repairs, completing concrete repair and parkade injections.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively with site teams, trades and property managers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with trades, site staff and management.
- Demonstrates integrity while consistently upholding the values and standards of Cressey.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and construction management software.
- Familiarity with the BC Residential Performance Guidelines and construction warranty processes is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between project sites.
Working location: Multiple sites across the lower mainland
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $36.00-$38.00 per hour
