Cobourg Auto Collision is looking for a reliable and hardworking Shop Hand / Automotive Detailer to join our team.
This role involves maintaining vehicle cleanliness and presentation, assisting technicians and shop staff, keeping the workspace organized, and supporting daily shop operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment. Duties to be performed between the hours of 9am-6pm.
Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, polish, and detail interior/exterior of vehicles, by hand, brush or washing equipment; including windshields, windows, lights and mats
- Vacuum interiors, shampoo carpets, and clean upholstery; some stain removal may be required
- Apply protective products such as fabric protection, waxes, tire dressings and rust proofing/undercoating
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas
- Move vehicles safely around the lot and shop
- Assist technicians with basic shop duties and material handling
- Teardown and reassembly of various components – bumpers, fenders, trim, etc.
- Dispose of waste and recycling according to shop procedures
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and shop materials
- Perform basic inspections and report vehicle damage or issues
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and company standards
Qualifications
- Previous automotive detailing or shop experience is an asset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
- Ability to operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of standing, bending, lifting, and working in varying temperatures
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
