Shel-Bar Electronic Industries Ltd. is seeking an experienced Journeyperson Electrician or motivated 3rd or 4th Year Registered Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team.
We provide commercial and industrial electrical services while supporting integrated technology solutions across Canada. Our work includes commercial buildings, industrial facilities, municipalities, utilities, water and wastewater infrastructure, critical infrastructure, and large multi-site projects.

This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must possess relevant commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will perform commercial and industrial electrical installations, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning while supporting projects throughout Canada.
As Shel-Bar continues to expand its electrical division, we anticipate sustained commercial and industrial electrical work. Our diverse project portfolio also provides opportunities to gain exposure to integrated security, low-voltage infrastructure, access control, CCTV, networking, and related technologies based on operational requirements, project assignments, and demonstrated competency.
For candidates interested in travel, this position also offers opportunities to participate in travel rotations on projects across Canada, providing additional earning potential while working on technically challenging installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Install conduit, cable tray, wire, devices, panels, and associated electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and construction documents.
- Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and commission electrical equipment and systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance and service work.
- Maintain accurate daily journals, service reports, deficiency reports, commissioning documentation, and project records.
- Coordinate work with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors, and other trades.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional installations.
- Follow Company Health & Safety requirements and client-specific safety procedures.
- Travel throughout Canada as required.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyperson Electrician or Registered 3rd or 4th Year Electrical Apprentice.
- Commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. This position requires the ability to accurately complete daily journals, service reports, commissioning documentation, deficiency reports, and other written project records while communicating professionally with customers, coworkers, and other trades.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team.
- Willingness to travel throughout Canada.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Acceptable driver's abstract.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Applicants should be prepared for regular travel and occasional overnight assignments as project requirements dictate.
