Food Prep & Meal Production Associate
Eat House Meals — Sechelt, BC
Full-time | Permanent | 40 hours/week | $24–$32/hour
There are plenty of jobs where you can show up, do the same thing every day, and go home.
Eat House is being built differently.
We’re a new prepared-meal company opening in Sechelt, focused on making fresh and frozen food in house using real ingredients, with no seed oils and no refined sugars.
At Eat House, most of what we sell is made in house — including our prepared meals, sauces, soups, dressings, drinks and other food products. This is not a kitchen built around opening boxes and reheating food. We want our team to understand ingredients, learn production methods, build real kitchen skills, and take pride in making products from start to finish.
We’re building a company where good people can do good work, be trusted with responsibility, and see a clear connection between what they contribute and where their career can go.
For someone who already has a job and has been thinking about what the next few years should look like, this is the kind of opportunity that can be worth paying attention to.
You don’t need to start over.
You don’t need to have a perfect résumé.
You don’t need to already be a chef, supervisor, or manager.
What matters is being dependable, capable, curious, and willing to become very good at what you do.
The Role
As a Food Prep & Meal Production Associate, you’ll be part of the team producing our in-house prepared fresh and frozen meals, sauces, drinks and other food products.
Your work will include:
- Washing, chopping, measuring and preparing ingredients
- Preparing recipes consistently in larger batches
- Making sauces, soups, dressings and other components from scratch
- Preparing house-made drinks and other packaged products
- Cooking grains, vegetables, pasta and other meal components
- Portioning and assembling fresh and frozen in-house prepared meals
- Packaging, sealing and labelling products
- Maintaining consistent portions and quality
- Organizing and rotating ingredients and inventory
- Receiving and putting away supplies
- Maintaining proper temperatures and food-safety procedures
- Cleaning and sanitizing workspaces, equipment and utensils
- Helping improve production systems and workflows
- Occasionally filling in across other areas of the business as operational needs require
We operate as one team, not a collection of isolated job titles. Food prep and meal production will be your primary responsibility, but everyone at Eat House is expected to occasionally step into other areas when needed.
That may include packaging, stocking, cleaning, receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, helping customers, basic retail duties, or covering another team member’s responsibilities.
We cross-train our team so people understand the whole operation and can confidently step in when needed.
No one is above helping with a task, and no one is expected to carry the team alone.
The work is hands-on, organized, and varied.
Because so much is made in house, you won’t be doing the exact same task every day. You’ll have the opportunity to learn how different products are made, understand how a production kitchen operates, and become capable across multiple areas of the business.
You’ll know what you’re responsible for, you’ll see the finished product, and you’ll understand how your work fits into the bigger picture.
What We Value
Experience matters, but character matters just as much.
The people who will do well here are the ones who:
- Show up when they say they will
- Take pride in doing things properly
- Work efficiently without becoming careless
- Keep their space clean and organized
- Notice what needs to be done
- Communicate well with the people around them
- Take feedback professionally
- Learn quickly
- Solve problems instead of passing them along
- Help make the team better
- Care about the quality of the final product
- Are willing to step outside their primary role and help the team when needed
- Are comfortable learning multiple parts of the business instead of being limited to one task
We want people to be able to earn trust here.
Once someone proves they can handle responsibility, there should be room for more responsibility.
Once someone develops stronger skills, there should be room to use them.
And when someone becomes capable of leading others, we want there to be somewhere for that ability to go.
Pay and Hours
$24–$32 per hour, depending on experience, capability and responsibility
Full-time, permanent
Approximately 40 hours per week
The range is intentionally broad.
Someone still developing in the role may start toward the lower end.
Someone who can work independently, maintain high standards, improve systems, train others and take on greater responsibility can progress toward the higher end.
We want compensation to reflect what someone is able to contribute.

A Company at the Beginning
There is something different about joining a company early.
The systems aren’t all set in stone.
The leadership positions aren’t all spoken for.
The people who become important to the business over time may be the same people who started by preparing ingredients, making sauces, producing meals, packaging products, helping customers, organizing inventory, and learning how the entire operation works.
Eat House is being built with the intention of growing beyond one location.
That means the company will eventually need production leads, supervisors, trainers, managers, and people who understand the business well enough to take ownership of larger parts of it.
Whenever possible, we would rather develop those people from within.
A person can start here doing food prep and become much more valuable over time simply by becoming dependable, capable, and knowledgeable.
That progression should be visible.
The Kind of Place We’re Building
We want the expectations to be clear.
Work hard. Treat people well. Take responsibility. Keep learning. Do good work.
In return, we want people to be respected, paid fairly, trusted as they prove themselves, and given room to grow.
For someone who likes where they live, enjoys working with good people, and wants their next job to have more potential than their last one, Eat House offers a strong place to build from.
