Canoe & Paddle is a welcoming lakeside destination in the heart of Lakefield, Ontario, where great food, refreshing drinks, and genuine hospitality come together. We’re looking for an experienced Food & Beverage Server to join our team and help create memorable experiences for our guests.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a confident, personable, and experienced server who thrives in a busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate understands that exceptional service is about more than taking orders—it’s about making guests feel welcome, anticipating their needs, and creating an experience they’ll want to repeat.
You’ll be responsible for providing attentive, efficient table service while maintaining a positive and professional attitude throughout each shift.
Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive service to guests
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
- Have a strong understanding of the menu, beverages, specials, and dietary considerations
- Make recommendations and confidently answer guest questions
- Deliver food and beverages promptly and professionally
- Monitor tables throughout the guest experience and anticipate their needs
- Process payments accurately and efficiently
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-presented dining and service areas
- Follow all food safety, responsible alcohol service, and workplace policies
- Work effectively with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house team members
- Handle busy periods calmly while maintaining excellent service standards
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years previous serving experience in a restaurant, pub, or hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service
- Smart Serve certification
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Availability for a combination of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great guest experiences
- Ability to lift 50+lbs
- Must have own transportation
