Job Description: This position is designed to provide support, guidance and connection to Elders, Cultural practices, Language and Ceremony for individuals accessing the Sagitawa programming.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate shall possess the following qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of the Indigenous community and Indigenous culture, protocols, ceremonies and traditions
- Experience in the delivery of services from an Indigenous perspective embracing the grandfather teachings of: Bravery, Love, Respect, Humility, Strength, Honesty, Wisdom
- Ability to share and teach culture
- Ability to speak Cree is an asset
- Understanding of Indigenous history pre- and post-European contact
- Capacity to interact with a wide range of populations with sensitivity and confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Social Media
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Provide a current and clear Criminal Record Check and Alberta Child and Youth Intervention Check
- Must have a valid driver license, reliable vehicle and ability to travel
This position is grant funded and is 40 hours per week until March 31, 2027, with potential for extension. The hours are flexible and based on programming needs.
Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.
