Summary
This position is accountable for the overall gathering, collecting, and cleaning of the J2 Greenhouse product including overall plant maintenance and packing. This position aims to meet departmental goals as set by the Greenhouse Manager and assists in reaching established objectives for quality, productivity, and operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve product from the cooler and distribute to accurate location.
- Pack and sleeve orders, including boxing and stacking skids, to be shipped.
- Mylar product within the order specifications and quality standards
- Grading plants in small, medium, and large including the pulling of plugs.
- Gathering, planting, weeding, disbudding, cleaning, and collecting plants and greenhouse products (overall maintenance including packing orders).
Qualifications
- Good physical health (ability to lift up to 40lbs)
- Previous experiences with flowers and greenhouses. Not required but considered an asset.
- Able to stand on your feet for extended period of time.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, and/or reach with body, arms and/or legs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet departmental/organizational benchmarks and goals.
- Must provide your own transportation and willing/flexible to work up to 6 days a week including possible Saturdays during peak seasons/holidays.
Other Requirements
- The majority of time spent in greenhouse operations varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Required to use Personal Protective Equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
- Position required standing, walking, bending, and lifting on a daily basis.
- Work under pressure, attention to detail and problem-solving on a daily basis
- Work as part of a team to meet overall departmental objectives.
