SCHEDULE “A”
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Employee is hired as “__Registered Dental Hygienist__” for the Company, the duties and responsibilities of which include, but are not limited to:
a) Carrying out various treatment modalities as part of overall treatment plan for the patient including:
i. Charting and data collection;
ii. Intra-oral radiography, photography, and scanning;
iii. Debridement, scaling, and root planning;
iv. Prophylactic cleaning and stain removal
v. Fluoride application;
vi. Pit and fissure sealants;
vii. Oral hygiene instruction;
viii. Impression making
b) Maintenance of instruments and equipment specific to position including:
i. Sharpening hand instruments and ensuring they are in good working condition;
ii. Oiling hand-pieces;
iii. Disposal of faulty equipment;
iv. Maintaining distilled water in chair-side bottle and;
v. Flagging equipment issues for clinic to manage.
c) Organization and order submission of inventory and supplies including:
i. Supply cupboards;
ii. Maintenance of appropriate supplies in operatory cabinets;
iii. Organization of operatory supplies;
iv. Periodic inventory count of current supplies and;
v. Ensuring instrument setups are available for use throughout the day.
d) Compliance with office policies regarding infection control including:
i. Changing ultrasonic cleaner solution when appropriate;
ii. Changing chair-side suction filter;
iii. Cleaning evacuation lines as appropriate;
iv. Hard surface decontamination of working and sterilization areas;
v. Water line sterilization and;
vi. Cleaning and sterilization of instruments.
e) Collecting and updating patient information as needed in chart;
f) Periodic chart auditing and record maintenance;
g) Compliance with office policies regarding patient information and confidentiality;
h) Procuring a replacement if time off is requested or needed for illness etc.;
i) Maintaining a clean and safe workspace including janitorial duties in the immediate working area and on occasion common areas; and,
j) Performing as a positive member of the patient care team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00-$56.00 per hour
