Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. This role is vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and ensuring smooth seating and service flow within our restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong sense of hospitality, and experience in customer service or food service environments. Previous restaurant or hotel experience is preferred but not required. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in guest relations and hospitality operations.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions
- Manage waitlists during busy hours and communicate estimated wait times
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette
- Assist with seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service flow
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for reservations and guest check-ins when necessary
- Provide exceptional guest services, ensuring a positive dining experience from start to finish
- Address guest concerns promptly and courteously, escalating issues as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality preferred
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
- Knowledge of POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is advantageous
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Demonstrated hospitality skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Experience in food service or restaurant operations is a plus
- Friendly demeanor with the ability to engage guests effectively
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
