The Warehouse Associate has a key role in ensuring that products are received, verified, stored, and transported to the sales floor or in the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves constant handling of merchandise that varies in weight from light to heavy throughout the shift.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Receive and unload trucks from start to finish, from sorting product to managing inventory discrepancies
- Maintain warehouse order and neatness, complete maintenance and ensure safety
- Organize and locate overstock in designated locations and maintain product locations
- Identify inventory differences/claims and action accordingly
- Transport merchandise to designated areas according to established procedures and policies
- Ability to maintain high level of productivity with minimal supervision
- Handle dangerous goods and hazardous products according to established procedures
- Ensure staff requests for product are met in a timely manner
- Maintain professional appearance (uniform, hygiene, grooming etc.)
- Follow company, store and department policies
- Follow store health & safety program and observe provincial occupational health & safety regulations; report any observed or potential hazards immediately
- Participate in meetings and all training, as required
- Complete other tasks, as required

- Ability to operate store equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, etc.
- Certifications in forklift, scissor lift, and powered stacker operation are considered an asset
Physical Demands (refers to an 8-hour shift with standard breaks)
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours or more
- Able to lift 25 kilos or 50 lbs unassisted and carry as required
- Ability to lift and turn repeatedly throughout the shift
- Ability to lift above shoulder and from floor to shoulder and floor to waist
- Ability to go up and down a ladder while carrying merchandise
- Ability to walk and carry at same time & push/pull as required
- Able to twist, turn, reach and work above shoulder level
- Able to kneel, squat and bend throughout the shift
Shift:
- 8 Hour Shift
- Must be available 5:00am - 4:00PM
