We are seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer (P.Eng) with experience in land development projects . This role is suited for a licensed professional who can take ownership of design work, mentor junior staff, and contribute meaningfully to project delivery and approvals.
Design & Technical Leadership:
- Prepare, review, and take professional responsibility for engineering designs including stormwater management systems, municipal servicing, and site grading.
- Develop and review Civil 3D drawings and models.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modelling using PCSWMM and/or EPANET.
- Prepare and sign/seal servicing, grading, and stormwater management reports where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with City of Ottawa standards and approval requirements.
Project Coordination & Approvals:
- Coordinate with architects, planners, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead or support municipal submissions and approvals.
- Respond to agency and municipal comments and revise designs accordingly.
- Represent LRL in meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Quality Control & Design Review:
- Conduct thorough design and drawing reviews.
- Lead or support QA/QC processes across project deliverables.
- Ensure consistency between drawings, reports, and calculations.
- Provide technical oversight and direction to project teams.
Mentorship & Team Development:
- Mentor and review work of junior engineers, EITs, and technologists.
- Provide guidance on design standards, modelling, and best practices.
Construction Support:
- Conduct site reviews and inspections for final sign off as required.
- Respond to RFIs and contractor inquiries as required to support the CA team.
- Provide input on shop drawings and as-built submissions to support the construction administration team.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario – REQUIRED.
- Minimum 5+ years of land development experience in Ontario.
- Strong knowledge of City of Ottawa standards and approval processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM and/or EPANET.
- Experience preparing engineering reports and submission packages in the land development industry.
- Ability to stamp/seal drawings and take responsibility for design work.

Compensation & Benefits
- $80,000 to $105,000 per year based on experience.
