A well-established Vancouver law firm is seeking an Intermediate Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to join its busy litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal administrative professional to join a collaborative and team-oriented environment while supporting a sophisticated litigation practice.
The successful candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent organizational skills and a thorough understanding of litigation procedures. This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable managing a busy workload, working independently and collaborating closely with lawyers and other members of the legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and transcribe legal documents, pleadings and general correspondence
- Maintain and organize legal documents, filing systems and related materials
- Coordinate mediations, discoveries, trials, client meetings and other appointments
- Manage files, including organizing documents and maintaining accurate filing
- Maintain an active bring-forward system and monitor important dates and deadlines
- Maintain open and closed files as required
- Prepare and follow up on monthly and quarterly billing statements
- Provide additional litigation and administrative support as required
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant
- Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program or equivalent relevant experience
- Thorough understanding of litigation procedures and legal administrative practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Experience with Elite 3E is considered an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, multitask and meet deadlines
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Professionalism, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling client information
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $65,000–$87,000, commensurate with experience.
