Job Summary
The Kinghaven Farm’s Seasonal Apiary General Labourer role is a full time position to be filled by a seasonal worker who will report to the Kinghaven Lead Beekeeper. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to, lifting and carrying full frames and boxes; assisting with hive inspections; harvesting of honey; aiding in the removal of vermin and administration of medicine, food and required treatments; assisting with the winterization process and other end of season preparation; and other tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- G Drivers licence a must;
- Ability to work in all weather conditions;
- Ability to work independently and part of a team;
- This is a very demanding position suitable for a hard worker; must be able to be physically comfortable routinely sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending and able to occasionally lift objects in excess of 60lbs;
Seasonal position: September - December
Hours: 7am - 5pm; Monday to Friday
Must supply own CSA approved work boots. On the job machine and safety training will be provided.
